I've tried to grow lobelia for three years now and it always lives for a short period of time and then dies. It never thrives. Each time I have purchased healthy seedlings from a gardener outside of town. I just came across an old note I wrote that says to put iron on lobelia. I'd appreciate any help you all could share to help me grow it. Does it need iron rich soil?

It's an annual.
Iron helps, especially in Idaho.

We've grown it here and it lasted a few years until I needed the box for something else. I believe I planted plants not seeds but it self seeded after that.

It did want some iron as I recall.

He's pretty good at "Sit" and "Stay" but when I tell him to "Fetch" he just scowls at me.

Haha Doc!!

My lobelia seems to like shade half the day and to keep its feet wet.
