I read that some mushrooms boost the immune system. Since we make soup all the time, I thought they would be good in soup. But then I remembered heating herbs damages medicine. Does anyone know if mushrooms keep their medicinal properties if simmered for a while?

according to chistopher hobbs ph.d mushrooms do retain their medicinal properties in teas and soups. I think they tincture reshi though cause they are so flipping hard.
also there is a what they call a double extraction first they are cut into small pieces or powdered and soaked in alcohol this draws out certain medicinal properties. usually soaked for 2-6 weeks then it goes through a water extraction simmered in hot water for 1-3 hours then those are combined.
hope this helps :woot:
